Knowing how to avoid tooth wear can be helpful in avoiding cavities and yellowing of teeth. Some good tips to avoid tooth wear are:
- Avoid soda and very acidic foods like orange, lemon, strawberry, grape and passion fruit;
- Do not chew tablets of medicines to be swallowed with water, and
- Wait at least 20 minutes to brush your teeth after drinking acidic foods or drinks.
Dental wear can occur in anyone, but it is more common in individuals who suffer from gastrointestinal reflux or who frequently vomit, such as those suffering from anorexia and bulimia, for example.
To maintain the health of the teeth is still indicated a good oral hygiene, so it is important to always clean the teeth after meals, avoiding the use of toothpicks as they can give a false sense of cleaning teeth. To clean your teeth properly you should:
- Floss between all teeth;
- Use a toothpaste with fluoride;
