A great nasal decongestant is the buchinha-do-norte or cabacinha due to its expectorant and antiseptic properties.
This homemade nasal decongestant can be used in case of stuffy nose, rhinitis and sinusitis. However, it is also important to take other measures to unblock the nose such as drinking 1.5 liters of water a day and blowing your nose whenever necessary to keep it clean, for example.
Ingredients
- 1 fruit of buchinha-do-norte
- 1 glass of mineral water
Method of preparation
Cut the buchinha de norte in 4 pieces and leave a piece of sauce in the glass with mineral water for 1 night. The next morning, remove the fruit from the water and drip 1 drop of this water into each nostril and inhale deeply.
If necessary, the dose may be increased to twice daily at well-spaced intervals.
Note : This plant is toxic and should not be boiled or ingested, as it can cause diarrhea, cramps and nausea.
