Indications
The use of Mucolitic is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic affections of the respiratory tract, in which the secretion is thick.
It is usually indicated for the relief of bronchospasm associated with chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma or emphysema or in allergic cough.
Mode of Use
Mucolitic should be used orally, and 250 to 500 mg, 3 times daily and for children 2 to 12 years old, 5 mg per kg body weight, 3 times per day, is recommended for adults and children over 12 years of age.
Side effects
The use of this medication can cause palpitation, rash on the skin, decreased blood sugar, diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, gastrointestinal bleeding, headache and dizziness insomnia.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in pregnancy and breast-feeding and for children younger than 2 years of age or with active peptic ulcer.
