Absten S is indicated to facilitate the treatment of obesity, in people who are eating a balanced diet and practicing a regular physical exercise.
How to take
The dose of this medicine should be calculated by the doctor, according to each case, however, most of the time it is done as follows:
- 1 tablet three times a day, one hour before meals; or
- 2 tablets, once a day .
The last tablet of the day should be ingested 4 to 6 hours before bedtime.
Possible side effects
Some of the most common side effects of Absten S include dry mouth, increased heart rate, nervousness, insomnia, diarrhea, nausea, drowsiness, headache, increased sweating, nausea, vomiting, palpitations or cramps.
Who should not take
This medication is contraindicated for children under 12 years of age, pregnant women, breast-feeding women, and people with allergies to some of the components of the formula, agitation, glaucoma, history of drug or alcohol use, MAOIs or illness such as arrhythmia, high blood pressure or diabetes.
In some cases of psychosis, such as schizophrenia, this medication should not be used.
