How to use Meropenem
Injectable Use
Adults and Teens
- Antibacterial : Administer 1 g of Meropenem intravenously every 8 hours.
- Skin and soft tissue infection : Administer 500 g of Meropenem intravenously every 8 hours.
Children from 3 years of age up to 50 kg weight:
- Intra-abdominal infection : Administer 20 mg per kg of Meropenem intravenously every 8 hours.
- Skin and soft tissue infection : Administer 10 mg per kg of Meropenem intravenously every 8 hours.
- Meningitis : Administer 40 mg per kg of Meropenem intravenously every 8 hours.
Children weighing more than 50 kg :
- Intra-abdominal infection : Administer 1 g of Meropenem intravenously every 8 hours.
- Meningitis : Administer 2 g of Meropenem intravenously every 8 hours.
