Almitrine is the active principle of the drug commercially available as Vectarion. Vectorion is a breathing stimulant that promotes respiration in cases of acute respiratory failure. Indications Respiratory insufficiency; chronic obstructive bronchitis. Side effects Agitation; anxiety; diarrhea; sleep disturbance; Headache; chest pain; indigestion; nausea; palpitation; paresthesia (abnormal tingling, stinging or burning sensation); conscious awareness of respiratory movements; weight loss; epigastric weight sensation; urticaria; vertigo; vomiting
