Maxcef is a medicine that has Cefepima as its active ingredient.
This drug is an antibacterial for injectable use. When administering Maxcef is expected regression of symptoms characteristic of bacterial infection, such as pain, inflammation, loss of appetite and nausea.
Maxcef Indications
Skin and soft tissue infection; abdominal infection; urinary tract infection, pneumonia.
Side Effects of Maxcef
Diarrhea; nausea; vomiting; reactions at the injection site.
Contraindications of Maxcef
Pregnancy risk B; women in the lactation phase; individuals with penicillin hypersensitivity.
How to use Maxcef
Injectable Use
Adults and Teens
- Abdominal infection : Administer 2 g of Maxcef intravenously (in the vein) every 12 hours (along with metronidazole) for 7 to 10 days.
- Skin and soft tissue infection and urinary tract infection : Administer 2 g of Mexcef intravenously every 12 hours for 10 days.
- Pneumonia (moderate to severe): Administer 1 to 2 g of Maxcef intravenously every 12 hours for 10 days.
