Headache, dry and red eyes and blurred vision are the symptoms of computer vision syndrome. The syndrome is caused by poor eye lubrication, due to the fact that individuals blink less, and also to close-up effort when working on the computer for hours at a time.
These symptoms also appear in individuals who spend a lot of time in front of the television or any other type of electronic screen. The programming draws attention, which makes it blink less. This way the eyes are not properly lubricated by the tears causing vision problems.
To reduce this annoyance it is recommended to use artificial tears, so-called eye drops that should be dripped in both eyes whenever necessary and decrease the exposure time to the screen.
One rule that can be followed to lessen the symptoms is every twenty minutes of computer use, stop twenty seconds looking at twenty feet away to lessen the effort during the use of the vision for close and therefore the symptoms.
