The pansy is a medicinal plant, also known as Pansy-perfect-bastard, Brave-pansy, Trinity-herb or Violet-fields, widely used in home remedies to treat inflammations such as rheumatism.
Its scientific name is Viola tricolor and can be purchased at natural products stores, handling pharmacies and at some free trade shows.

Mode of use of the Pansy
The used parts of the Pansy are its flowers, leaves and stem to make teas, compresses or to complete desserts with their crystallized petals.
- Pansy tea for skin problems: put 5 g of the dried plant in a cup of boiling water and let it stand for 10 minutes. After cooking and drinking 3 times a day, between meals;
- Pansy Compresses for rheumatism: put 20 to 30 g of fresh flowers in 500 ml of boiling water for 15 minutes. Strain, dip a compress into the mixture and then apply over the sore joint.
Pansy Side Effects
The side effects of Pansy include severe allergies to the skin when used in excess.
Contraindications of the Pansy
Pansy is contraindicated for infants and children.
