Ginger flu syrup is an excellent home remedy due to its anti-inflammatory, analgesic and expectorant properties, which help fight flu symptoms like cough, fever, runny nose, headache and feeling sick.
However, when the flu or cold does not go away in 1 week and if there are symptoms of severity like fever it is important to go to the doctor because it may have evolved into something more serious like a respiratory infection for example.
Ingredients
- 25 g fresh sliced ginger or 1 tablespoon ginger powder
- 1 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons water
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 5 drops of propolis extract
Method of preparation
Boil the water and after boiling turn off the heat and add the sliced ginger. Cover, let stand for 10 minutes, add the sugar and lemon juice and mix until a homogeneous mixture is obtained with a viscous consistency equal to the syrup.
Take 1 tbsp 3 times a day until symptoms of flu are gone. Children should take 1 teaspoon of ginger syrup 3 times a day.
