Erythrex is an antibacterial drug that has as active substance Erythromycin.
This oral medication is indicated for the treatment of diseases such as tonsillitis, pharyngitis and endocartitis. The action of Eritrex is to inhibit the protein synthesis of bacteria that are weakened and eliminated from the body.
Erythrex Indications
Amidaglite; conjunctivitis in the newborn; pertussis; amoebic dysentery; bacterial endocartitis; pharyngitis; endocervical infection; infection in the rectum; infection in the urethra; pneumonia; primary syphilis.

How to use Eritrex
Oral use
Adults
- Bacterial Endocartitis: Administer 1g of Erythrex, prior to the disease prevention procedure and 500 mg 6 hours later.
- Syphilis : Administer 20 g Erythrex in divided doses for 10 consecutive days.
- Amoebic dysentery : Administer 250 mg Erythrex 4 times daily for a period of 10 to 14 days.
Children up to 35 kg
- Bacterial Endocartitis : Administer 20 mg Erythrex per kg body weight, 1 hour before surgery and 10 mg per kg body weight, 6 hours after the initial dose.
- Amoebic dysentery : Administer 30-50 mg Erythrex per kg body weight daily. Treatment should last 10 to 14 days.
- Pertussis: Administer 40 to 50 mg Erythrex per kg body weight, divided into 4 doses. Treatment should last 3 weeks.
- Conjunctivitis in newborns : Administer 50 mg of Erythrex per kg of body weight daily, divided into 4 doses. Treatment should last 2 weeks.
