Consumption of water contaminated with micro-organisms can lead to serious illness and even death within a few days, especially in children. Check here some sources of contaminated water, that is, unfit for consumption:
- river water, stream, lake or pond;
- waterfall water;
- tap water at the roadside;
- rain water;
- sea water;
- water pool;
- puddles of rainwater;
- water from untreated wells;
- springs water;
These waters should not be consumed before being properly treated with sodium hypochlorite because they can cause diseases such as diarrhea and cholera due to the presence of bacteria, viruses, fecal coliforms, protozoa, algae or fungi.
