Descon is a medicine used to treat influenza, which has paracetamol, phenylephrine hydrochloride and chlorpheniramine maleate as its active ingredient.
Descon works by improving symptoms related to colds and flu and can be found in the form of capsules, drops or oral solution.
Indications
Nasal obstructions, coryza, headaches, muscle aches and fever.
Contraindications
Hipersensibility to any of the formula's components; diabetes, heart problems, chronic kidney disease, liver problems, thyroid dysfunction, pregnancy and lactation.
Side effects
Sedation, drowsiness, palpitations, anxiety, tremor, insomnia, gastric discomfort, low blood pressure. Continued use of this medicine may lead to problems in blood clotting.
How to use
Capsules:
- Adults: 1 to 2 capsules every 4 hours.
- Children over 12 years: 1 capsule every 4 hours.
Oral Solution:
- Adults and children over 12 years: 1 tablespoon of dessert (10 mL) every 4 hours.
- Children 6 to 12 years: 1 teaspoonful (5 mL) every 4 hours.
Drops:
- From 4 to 6 years: 25 to 35 drops 3 to 4 times a day.
- From 2 to 4 years: 17 to 25 drops 3 to 4 times a day.
