A great home remedy to stop fluid retention is the fennel tea because it has substances that help to eliminate the excess liquids in the cells through the urine.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon of fennel
- 1 cup water
Method of preparation
Put the ingredients in a saucepan and boil for 5 minutes. Then cover, let cool and strain. Drink tea 3 times a day between meals. The mixture can be sweetened with 1 tablespoon of honey.
Fennel tea is also an excellent choice for those who suffer from constipation and excess intestinal gas because the plant possesses properties that involuntary contractions of the intestine, facilitating its functioning and elimination of feces.
Horsetail Tea
Another good home remedy for water retention, characterized by the body swelling, is to take the horsetail tea because this medicinal plant has diuretic properties that favor the production of urine, eliminating excess liquid from the body.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon horsetail
- 1 cup boiling water
Method of preparation
Add the horsetail in the boiling water and let stand for 10 minutes, properly capped. Filter and drink the following. You can take up to 3 cups of horsetail tea per day.
Horsetail should not be consumed during pregnancy and in case of heart or kidney failure.
During treatment for fluid retention it is also recommended to decrease salt intake and do some form of physical exercise such as walking for example.
