Racecadotril is the active substance of an antidiarrheal medicine known commercially as Tiorfan.
This medicine for oral use is indicated for cases of diarrhea, its action is to inhibit the functioning of an enzyme responsible for the secretory activity of the intestines. This action provides relief of symptoms, which can be noticed 30 minutes after the drug is given.

How to use Racecadotril
Oral use
Adults
- Start with 100 mg regardless of time, if necessary, then administer 100 mg every 8 hours until diarrhea ceases (up to a maximum of 7 days).
Adult dose limit : 400 mg per day.
