Rofecoxib (Vioxx) is an anti-inflammatory and analgesic drug from Merck Sharp & Dohme.

Indications

Pain relief, osteoarthritis, primary dysmenorrhea.

Contraindications

People who are allergic to any component of the medicine.

Side effects

Increases the risk of infarction, abdominal pain, fatigue, dizziness, flu-like picture, lower limb edema, upper respiratory tract infection, hypertension, diarrhea, dyspepsia, epigastric discomfort, heartburn, nausea, sinusitis, lower back pain, headache, bronchitis, urinary tract infection, alveolitis after tooth extraction, most commonly are constipation, fever and nausea.
