Minocycline is an oral medication, known commercially as Minomax.
This medicine is an antibacterial, which works by eliminating the bacteria of the organism and softening the symptoms of diseases like gonorrhea and syphilis.
Indications for Minocycline
Acnes; ulcerative gingivitis; gonorrhea; syphilis.
Side Effects of Minocycline
Diarrhea; loss of appetite; allergies to the skin; nausea; dizziness; vomiting; vertigo; increased urea in the blood.
Contraindications of Minocycline
Pregnancy risk D; women in the lactation phase; Hypersensitivity to Minocycline.
How to use Minocycline
Oral use
Adults
- Gonorrhea : Initiate the treatment by administering 200 mg of Minocycline every 12 hours. then passed to 100 mg every 12 hours. The treatment should last at least 4 days.
- Syphilis : The amount should be the same as for gonorrhea, but the treatment should last at least 10 to 15 days.
