Genital hygiene in girls should be done with each diaper change and can be made with cotton dampened in warm water or baby wipes.
In girls, cleansing of the genital area should always be done from front to back, as shown in the picture, so that the microorganisms of the anus do not come into contact with the vagina and cause infection (especially the urinary tract).
The larger and smaller lips of the baby's inner region should be wiped clean, but never the inside of the vagina. In addition, cleansing should be careful, but not obsessive because the baby's skin is very thin and delicate, especially in the genital area.
To protect the skin from the rashes it is recommended to use an ointment against rashes, which is easily found in pharmacies.
